1944 Dec 13 Ft Worth TX "Services for William C Matlock, 63, of 1212 E Belknap, who died Tuesday at his home, will be held Wednesday at Shannon's Chapel. Burial will be in Garden of Memories. Survivors are his widow; four sons, Claude of Garvin OK; Charles of Oklahoma City, and Troy and Clyde both in the Army; a daughter Mrs. Mamie Mc Lain of Garvin and a sister Mrs. Bettie Auld of Willis." 1965 Feb Mrs Epsy Matlock dies Thursday"

Mrs. Epsy Matlock, 83, died at 7:15 am at the home of a daughter, Mrs Jake Johnston, Garvin.  Born Jan 20, 1882 in Aniston, Alabama, she had resided in this county since 1928, moving from Avery, Texas.  She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by five sons; Claude and Clyde both of Garvin; Charles Matlock of Ft. Worth, Texas; Troy Matlock of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and Arlen Matlock of Kilgore, Texas.; two daughters, Mrs Jake Johnston (Ethel) and Mrs H.H. McLain (Mayme) both of Garvin; two brothers, Richard Baird, of Okla City; and Ruther Baird of Alvin, Tx.; one sister, Mrs Thad McCluskey, Lubbock, Tx.; 20 grand children and 21 great grand children and one great-great grand child. Funeral services were set for 1:00pm Saturday at the Garvin Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Patterson officiating.  Arrangements and burial will be in the Garvin cemetery under the direction of Norwood - Welch Funeral Home. Bearers are Terry, Floyd, John, Bill and Herb Matlock

and Maurice Bull.

   CLAUDE W. MATLOCK Born October 5, 1905 in Stigler, Okla. was

   entered into rest on January 16, 1984. in Idabel, Okla. Services

   were held at 10:00am Wednesday, January 18, 1984 at the Garvin

   Baptist Church, officiating was Rev. James Cockerham and Rev.

   Dick Logan. He was buried in the Garvin cemetery.

 

   Eunice Julie Matlock born July 4 1906 in Cave City Arkansas.

   Entered into rest March 23, 1993 in Sarasota, Fla. Services

   were held Garvin Baptist Church March 27 1993. Officiating

   was Dick Logan. She was buried in the Garvin Cemetery. She

   had one son; Billy Wayne of Idabel, Oka. and three daughters;

   Barabar Nell Blanton of Sarasota, Fla., LoraEtta Blackerby of

   Idabel Okla., and Doris Ann Livergood of Idabel Okla. She also

   had two brothers; Noah Montgomery of National City, California

   and Elum Montgomery of National City, California. She had one

   sister; Ruby King of National City California. And eleven

   grand children and nice great grand children.

    Charles Matlock, 64 Garvin, died 4:10 pm Sunday Jan 2 1972 at his home

   in Garvin. Born July 7, 1907 in Stigler, Okla. He had been a resident

   of Garvin for 50 years. He was operator of a garage and body shop, a

   veteran of WW2 and a member of the Baptist church. Suvivors include his

       wife Alta of the home; one son Herbert L. Matlock of Okla City.; four

   daughters; Ernestine Warhurst of Malin, Oregon, Charlene Bull of Dallas,

   Tx.; Vonda Allen and Wanda Sue Gilliland both of Dallas, TX.; four

   brothers Claude and Clyde of Garvin and Troy and Arlen of Kilgore, Tx.;

   two sisters, Ethel Johnston and Mamie McLain of Garvin.; 15 grandchildren

   and six great grand children. Funeral services were  held at 10:30 today

   (Tuesday Jan 4, 1972) in the Garvin Baptist Church Burial was in the

   Garvin cemetery under the direction of Norwood-Welch Funeral Home.

   his occupation was an Automobile Serviceman. He was single, Height

   68 Weight 144 (World War II Army Enlistment Records)

 

 6 CLYDE MATLOCK born Aug 8 1922 Avery TX. Clyde married Melda. Clyde

   died Nov 16 2000 Garvin OK.  

 

   Clyde Matlock of Garvin, Okla entered into rest November 16, 2000.

   in Garvin. He was born August 8, 1922 in Avery, Texas. Services

   will be held Saturday November 18, 2000 at the Garvin Baptist Church.

   He will be buried in the Garvin cemetery.Clyde is survived be his wife

     Melda, sons and daughter-in-laws; Floyd and Billie Lou Matlock of Valliant,

   Okla.; Dale and Karen Matlock of Garvin, Okla.; Gary and Joann Matlock

   of Valliant, Okla.; and Charles and Sharen Matlock of Garvin. Daughters

   and sons-in-laws; Sue and Roger Fields;, Valliant, Okla; Kathy and Henry

   Kulaga of DeRidder, La. and brothers; Troy of Gilmer, Tx;and Arlen of

   Kilgore, Tx. His sisters were Ethel Johnston of Garvin and Mamie McLain

    of Broken Bow, Okla.He had fourteen grand children and four great grand

   children.

 

 7 ARLIN M MATLOCK born July 25 1924 Avery TX. Arlin married Jewel. Arlin

   died April 6 2005 Kilgore TX.

 

   Arlin M Matlock, 1924, White, born Texas, living in McCurtain Co OK,

   enlisted on July 28 1944 from Oklahoma City. Private, No branch

   assignment. Education consisted of Grammar School, Arlin was married.

   Arlin Matlock.. Service for Arlin Matlock, 80, of Kilgore will be at 4

   p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore

   with Rev. Earl W. ?Buddy? Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in

   Danville Cemetery. Mr. Matlock died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at his

   residence in Kilgore. He was born July 25, 1924 in Avery to Bill and

   Epsy Matlock. He was a US. Army veteran and served during WWII in

   Germany. He was a retired pipe fitter, a member of the Disabled American

   Veterans, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of

   Forest Home Baptist Church and attended the Sanctuary Sunday School Class.

   Survivors include his wife, Jewel Matlock, Kilgore; two daughters, Marilyn

   Shockey, Dallas, Arlinda Jane and Jim Barton, The Colony; son, Johnny

   Matlock, Flower Mound; brother, Troy Matlock, Gilmer; four grandchildren;

   three great-grandchildren and other family and friends. The family will

   receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:30 until 7 p.m.
