Littleberry Matlock
possibly born abt 1740
VA. There isn't alot
known about
this Littleberry, but it is
believed that he was the
son of William and
possible his 2nd wife
Catherine. The first
records that have been
found that
appear to be Littleberry was dated
1775, Halifax Co VA.
1775/76 Will of

Note: Littleberry,
son of Moore Matlock is
believed to have been
born abt 1758.
If this
is true, He would of
only been 19 in 1777.
Most Deeds etc. .Men
were
usually 21. With
keeping that in
mind was Littleberry the
Witness of Moore
and
Zachariah Moore's
brother
But its also important
to realize that : "Children
aged 14 or more could
legally
witness a deed,
will, or contract but
this is also not
particularly common, in
my experience. For a
variety of practical
reasons the parties to
such acts
generally
preferred adults as
witnesses, or at the
least someone who was
near
majority."

MOORE MATLOCK
1782 - Moore MATLOCK -
Botetourt Co. Va.
Military list - 2 -
1780-86 Moore Matlock on
tax list in Botetourt Co
Va.
Note:
This Moore could be the
son of Moore Matlock Sr.
as implied by Marie
Harris,
but with Littleberry and Charles
and Moore being together
is it possible that
Moore
and Charles were
the sons of Littleberry
and Christian? Moses
names a son Charles,
was
it after his brother?
"
If, as Melba WOOD's says
"Moore", b. 1732, he is
age 54 in 1786 - (Would
not be
in military list
nor on any tax list) I
would guess that this is
the son of Moore,
Sr. “
These are the words of
Marie Harris.”
