Walter J. Matlock 72, of Loudon, Route 1, passed away at Bacon Hospital July 23. Survivors: daughter Mrs. William Fulton, Dayton Ohio; sons, Jess, Melbourne Fla; W. E. Barnsville, GA, Tom, Loudon; three brothers, Herbert, Kinsport, Frank, Bristol, Raymond, Cincinnati, Ohio; four sisters; Mrs. O. J. Dail, Greenville, Ill; Mrs. Herbert Rogers, Madisonville; Mrs Clyde Pickell; Mrs Charlie Lovelace both of Lenoir City; 13 grandchildren one great grandchild. Funeral service 2 pm Friday, Prospect Baptist Church, Rev. James Wells, Rev. O C. Rainwater officiating. The body will lie in state one hour at the church. Interment, Prospect Cemetery. William Matlock Knoxville, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon in Knoxville of an apparent heart attack. A former resident of Kingsport, he was a retired barber and owner of People's Barber Shop. He was a former elder at Cedarview Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Cumberland Pres-Barber Shop. Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Margaret Alexander Matlock, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn MacLeod, and Mrs. Betty Jovan, both of Olympia, Wash., and Mrs. Vivian Carson, Lanham, Md.; two sons, Robert W. Matlock, Kingsport and Glenn A. Matlock, Knoxville. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Martha Pickle. Lenoir City, Mrs. Maude Rogers, Madisonville. and Mrs. Vida Dial, of Illinois; a brother, Frank Matlock, Bristol, and five grandchildren. Click's Funeral Home, Lenoir City, Tenn., is in charge.
