Oliver Matlock
Oliver E Matlock, 75, son of Duke and Daisy Davis Matlock, was born
Aug. 22, 1927, near Salem.
He died June 11, 2003, at Texas County Memorial
Hospital in Houston. He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II, receiving his honorable
discharge in 1947. He married Eulah Wade Crismon Dec.
28, 1966. They lived in the Licking area for
many years. Mr. Matlock was a member of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 6337 and active in the
community. He was a plasterer in St. Louis while living
there and other areas. He loved country life.
His hobbies were fishing, bowling, hunting and the
outdoors. His happiest times were teaching his
children and grandchildren, whether it was how to
catch the big one or be a good sport. He was
preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobby; and
a sister, Elizabeth Frazier. Surviving are his
wife; three sons, Oliver Matlock of Chesterfield, Dale
Matlock of
St. Louis and Jerry Crismon of Belleville, Ill.; two daughters, Olivia
Dieckman of Fenton
and Jeanie Crismon of Rolla; two brothers, Dukie
Matlock of Pacific and Larry Matlock of Craig, Colo.;
four sisters, Barbara Debusk of Arnold, Janet
Langendoerfer of St. Louis, Daisy Freeman of Arlington,
Texas, and Louetta Sutton of St. Charles; 16
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Burial was in
the Licking Cemetery. (Harold Houston Dec
