Old Soldiers Pay Regards To The Memory Of B.M. Tabor
Commander Of Post was Popular With All Civil War Survivors
The funeral of B. M. Tabor, late commander of Edwardsville Post
# 461, was held yesterday afternoon from the family residence in
LeClaire to St. John's M. E. Church, thence to Woodlawn Cemetery.
Dr. W. H. Poole had charge of the service. The local G.A.R. post
turned out in a body and were joined by comrades from other places
who came to do honor to the deceased.
The G.A.R. marched through town just ahead of the hearse and formed
a guard of honor while the body was being carried to and from the
hearse. At the grave the old soldiers had charge using their rituals
and firing the customary salute of honor.
The pallbearers were 4 sons, a brother, and a nephew who served in
compliance with a special request of Mr. Tabor. Sons: William,
George, Henry and Robert Tabor. Brother: William Tabor. Nephew:
James Shaul.

of 6 children - George, William, Henry, Rose, Fannie and Eva. The
mother and 2 children, Rose and Eva, are deceased.

Illinois and to this children there were three children born - Cliff,
Emma and Robert. Mrs. Tabor died in 1879 at Edwardsville.
