Isome MATLOCK of the county of Phelps in
the State of Missouri… being now in my
seventy-fifth year – Last Will and
testament
First – to my beloved wife Nancy after
my death all my personal property and
real estate to hold and enjoy during her
natural life should she survive me at
her death I give and bequeath to my
youngest son David Boon MATLOCK, the
following described real estate lying &
being situated in the county of Phelps
and State of Missouri to wit: The West
half of the North West quarter of
Section No. twelve township thirty eight
range seven West together with all the
improvements and appurtenances thereto
belonging or in any wise appertaining
thereto.
Second – I desire that at my death
should I survive my wife, if not at her
the said Nancy MATLOCK’S death, all my
personal property to be sold and after
paying my debts and expenses of sale and
funeral expenses out of the proceeds
arising from the sale thereof that the
remainder be equally divided between my
beloved children John MATLOCK, Wm.
MATLOCK, Elizabeth Coffman, Jesse
MATLOCK, Thos MATLOCK, James MATLOCK and
David B. MATLOCK to share and share
alike and for the purpose of executing
the provisions of the foregoing will. I
do appoint my son John MATLOCK executor
of this my last Will and testament.
Note: There is no date on this will.
But, will was made in his 75th year. He
died at the age of 93 according to his
son’s obituary.. on 28 November 1874..
So will must have been written about
1856.. I have his name as Isham Esau, he
was married to Nancy Ellen Hale…Wanda
