No 684 Claimant John Nailor, March 19 1804, Wit Capt Burnt. John Nailor claims

preemption rights to 313 acres in Claiborne Co on the MS River below Grand

Gulf and above the mouth of Bayou Pierre adj. On east Killiam Medlock by

virtue of John Nailor inhabiting the premises before March 1st 1803

Claim No 271 (Reg 20 Feb 1804) Pet. Of John Burnt to Sp Govt. Whereas your

Excellency had long promised him a compensation in lands for various publick

services by him rendered and you were pleased lately to direct the petitioner

to locate the same and you would order him to be put in possession thereof,

the petitioner hath located the same and purchased an improvement thereon,

which lies about one-half mile below Grand Gulf on the MS River, in which

places your petitioner prays ue please, for reasons aforesaid, to grant him 1

000 acres. Signed Natchez. 25 Aug 1795

all my right etc in following papers and land to wit: A bill of sale signed

by Nelly Price date 25 Oct 1785 and a petition signed by myself and a decree

signed by Grayso then Gov. of Natchez and a plat survey dated in 1801 the plat

containing 1795 acres on the banks of the Miss River just below Grand Gulf….
