ANADARKO -- Funeral service for Alvin G. "Buster" Matlock, 88, Anadarko, will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday at Smith Funeral Chapel with Roger Settle officiating.

Mr. Matlock died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at home.

Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Anadarko. He joined the Army in April 1945 and was honorably

discharged in August 1945. He married Bonell Roller on Aug. 22, 1945, in Anadarko. She

preceded him in death on June 3, 1995. He started farming and worked part time as a caretaker

for the Anadarko Fairgrounds. He was an honorary member of the Anadarko FFA Club. He was a

full-time farmer until November 2005, when he had a stroke. He was a member of New Hope Baptist

Church.

        FLETCHER  — Funeral for a former Fletcher  area
        resident, John M. Matlock, 95 of Tuttle, who died at 5:55 a.m.
        today in an Oklahoma City hospital after a brief illness, will be

        at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Fletcher First Baptist Church.
        Rev. A. L. Swagerty, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Apache's

        Fairview Cemetery under direction of Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher.
        Mr. Matlock was born March 10, 1877, in Saint Joseph, Mo, and came to

        Wetumka in 1886. He moved to the Caddo-Comanche County area in

        1906 and farmed there until his retirement.  He moved to Tuttle in 1967.

        He was a member of the Fletcher First Baptist Church. He was married to

        Maude George, July 22,1905, at Wetumka. She died Sept, 20, 1959.
        Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Ethel Jones, Fletcher, Mrs Ray

        Kirkien, Mrs Chris Fette, McIntosh, GA; Mrs. Clara Kelly, Ardmore;

        Mrs Roy McMahan, Oklahoma City; and Mrs Melvin Frederickson,

        Springfield Mo.; three sons , Ralph, Geronimo; Donald Gene and Leroy

        both of Anadarko, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services for the Rev. Herbert P. Matlock, 87, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2000,

at First Baptist Church with the Rev James Densman and the Rev. Duane Cook officiating.

Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

Matlock was born Dec. 16, 1912, at Franklin, to Stanley G. and Mahala Lee Lessly Matlock.

He died Feb. 29, 2000, in Ardmore. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and

Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, Kan., and was ordained to gospel ministry Sept.

1, 1940, by First Baptist Church in Davis, Okla. He served on a mission field in the Panama

Canal Zone in 1947 and had lived in Davis since 1949. He pastored rural churches in Missouri

and Oklahoma and operated a ministry of Christian Book Store out of his home for several years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Davis. He and Lucille Jones were married May 22,

1942, at Prague. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Paul David Matlock and

his wife, Dianna, of Parker, Texas, Philip Rhea Matlock and Charles Lee Matlock, both of Davis;

two sisters, Jewell Fox of Moore, and Mary Lou Davis of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, James

Matlock of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren, Michael Matlock, Kevin Matlock Bobbs, Brian

Matlock and Rhea Samson; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Bearers will be

the deacons at First Baptist Church. Honorary bearers will be the Senior Men's Sunday School Class.
