county, Mo. and was married April
13, 1884, in Wright county. She is
survived by her husband; five
daughters, Mrs. Lula Wright and Mrs.
Fannie Anthony of Breckenridge,
Mrs. Attie Wyatt of Nugent, Mrs. Leeora
Gooch of Abilene, Ruby Humphrey;
three sons Cecil, Bill and J. W.
Humphrey Jr.; 22 grandchildren;
21 great grandchildren; three brothers,
Oscar Matlock of Abilene, Andy
Matlock of Coast and Will Matlock of Nugent;
and two sisters, Mrs. Otis Wylie
of Nugent and Mrs. Neth Jones of Odessa.
Funeral Tuesday will be at 3 p.m.
in Elliott's chapel, with Dr. M. A.
Jenkens officiating. Burial will
be in the Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Humphrey
was a member of the First Baptist
church. Pallbearers for the service are
to be Billy Frank Anthony, Johnny
Wyatt, J. T. Wyatt, Billy Adams, Ollie
Stephens and Dick Smith.

Funeral Scheduled Here Today for W. W. Mailock, 73
Funeral was to be held at 4 p.m. this afternoon in
Laughter North Memorial Chapel for
W. W. Matlock, 73. retired Nugent
farmer who died Thursday. He lived in the Nugent community
for the past 56 years. The
Rev. J. Henry Littleton. pastor of the Louders Baptist Church, and
the Rev. V. C. Ashford,
pastor of the Southside Baptist Church, were to officiate. Burial was
to be in Cedar Hill
Cemetery. Born Sept. 7, 1876 in Missouri. Mr. Matlock came to Nugent
with
his parents at the age of
17. He was married to Nola Wyatt in 1901 at Nugent. Surviving are
the widow. two daughters.
Mrs. J. E. Hailey, 2060 Lanham Lane, and Mrs. Melvin Evans. 626
Clinton St., a
brother Oscar Matlock of Abilene, and three sisters, Mrs. O. W. Wylie of
Nugent, Mrs. Nettie Ware of
Oklahoma, and Mrs. Charlotte Chambers of Colorado. Mr. Matlock
died at the home of Mrs.
Evans.

COLORADO CITY. Nov. 5. 1951
James I. L. Matlock. 82, died Monday shortly afternoon
at, his home here. Matlock,
a retired farmer, was born Sept.
2. 1869 in Salem, Mo. He married the former Arizona
Anderson Dec. 3, 1896, at Deport,
Tex. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the
Masonic Lodge. Funeral will be
held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Kiker and Son Funeral
Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Byrd,
pastor of the Temple Baptist Church in Abilene,
officiating, He will be assisted
by the Rev. R. Y. Bradford, pastor of the First
Baptist Church of Colorado City.
Burial will be In the Colorado City Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as
pallbearers. Survivors include the widow, Four sons, Otis and
Wayne Matlock of Colorado City,
Everett Matlock of Olden. Delbert of Westbrook: two
sisters, Mrs. W. D. Mitchell of
Kermit and Mrs. Grant Linsley of Wingate; 21
grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren.
