Matlock but in the end, records shows in actuality he was a Dyer.

 

Guy Bennett Matlock was born about 1901 TX and was killed by his stepson Charles Shaunfield March 21 1954 in Corsicana, Navarro Co TX. Guy was the son of George and Cassie Matlock and can be found on the census below. Guy married Irma Lou Sharp Shaunfield sometime after 1939. Charles William Shaunfield son of Irma Lou Sharp and Charles William Shaunfield Sr was born Dec 8 1939 Jefferson Co TX.  The Sharp family can be found on the 1910 Rusk Co TX, 1920 Falls Co TX census and the 1930 Harris Co TX census. Irma Lou was born Sept 29 1901 and died July 1985 Port Arthur Jefferson Co TX. If Guy Matlock was on a census after 1910 it was possibly in 1920 Dallas County, which would indicate that he was married prior to a Lelia? A Guy Matlock/Mattock/Medlock has not been found in 1930.

George married Cassandra "Cassie" Bennett. George died between 1909 and 1919, Cassie

married 2^nd Henry Howard and can be found on the 1920 Navarro Co TX Census. George

can be found on the 1880 Dorsey Co AR and the 1900-1910 Navarro Co TX Census. Cassie

was the daughter of Marion and Orlena Bennett and can be found on the 1880 Navarro Co

TX Census.

George is actually not a Matlock but a Dyer. As can be seen by the 1880 Dorsey Co AR

Census, he is listed as a step son of John W Matlock. Mary was married 1st to Richard

Dryer and was living in Bradley Co AR in 1870, at that time is showed them to be the

parents of John Dyer age 6 and William Dyer age 1. Mary was right on track with her age

and was listed as being 30 years old born in MS.
