RALPH HUDSPETH SR.

1662-1719

Collections of Dubie Hudspeth

Ralph Hudspeth Sr. is believed to have been born about 1662. Ralph is believed to have been

the immigrant, from where he originated, we don't know. At this time, we have not found any

passenger records of Ralph Sr. We do know that Ralph was in Virginia before 1688, for it was

in October of that year that Ralph married Margaret Eyers.

"October 1688 his marriage to Margaret Eyers was solemnized at St. John's Church in Henrico

Co, Virginia. These records have preserved with the parish records of St. John's Church and

also in Henrico County  Miscellaneous Records, 1650 Vol. II."

Margaret Eyre was born about 1666 Charles City Virginia and was the daughter of Joseph Eyre

and Margaret Humphrey. Margaret Humphrey  was the daughter of William Humphrey who left a will

dated 1687 where he names his granddaughters including Margaret Eyre that married Ralph.

1687 June 1 Henrico Co VA   William Humphrey's Will

" After my just debts are paid I give to my daughter Margaret wife of Maurice Floyd ten pounds

sterling."

" Thirdly I give unto my three granddaughters  Margaret, Jane and Hannah Eyre my movable

property to be divided" Makes Margaret Floyd his executrix. Then says he omitted William

Eyre his grandson who he wants to share also equal with his sisters." Signed will with WH.
