George Hudspeth was born abt 1738 either in Henrico Co or Goochland
Co VA. It is thought that George Married Judy Rann/Rahn, but at this
time there is no proof as to what Georges wife, of wives names were.
George is believed to have died abt 1810 in Logan Co Ky.

30 This indenture made the nineteenth day of September One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Sixty Eight between Thomas Bradford of the county
of Granville and Province of North Carolina of the one part and
George Hudsparth of the aforesaid County and Province of the other
part witnesseth that the said Thomas Bradford for and in consideration
of the sum of sixteen pounds proclamation money to him in hand paid
before the ensealing hereof the receipt whereof the said Thomas Bradford
do hereby acknowledges himself therewith fully satisfied have granted
bargained sold and confirmed and by these presents do fully and
absolutely grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said George Hudsparth
his heirs and assigns forever part of a tract of land lying and being on
the waters of Lowground Creek and where the said George Hudsparth now
lives it being part of a larger tract of land by a deed from one Lord
Earl of Granville to John Plant beginning at a hickory near the path
that leads from Wilkersons to Bradfords being a corner of the original
deed thence running North one hundred and nine poles to a corner at
three red oaks thence West two hundred and ninety four poles to a pine
thence south one hundred and nine poles to a black oak thence east two
hundred and ninety four poles to the first stations Hickory it being
by estimation one hundred acres of land be the same more or less To
have and to hold the said granted premises with the appurtenances and
privileges thereunto belonging unto him the said George Hudspeth his
heirs and assigns forever to his and their proper use and behoof for
all and I the said Thomas Bradford for me my heirs executors and
administrators do covenant and promise to and with the said George
Hudspeth his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing hereof that
I the said Thomas Bradford am the sole and lawful owner of the above
said premises and am lawfully possessed of the same in my own proper
right as a good and absolute estate of Inheritance in fee simple and
have in my self good right and full power to grant bargain sell and
confirm the aforesaid premises and that the said George Hudspeth his
heirs and assigns shall from time to time and at all times forever
hereafter by virtue of these presents lawfully and quietly have hold
and enjoy the said bargained premises with all and every the
appurtenances free and clear freely and clearly exonerated and
discharged of and from all manner of gifts grants bargains sales leases
interests jointers dowers judgments executions and incumbrances
whatsoever the interests henceforth payable to improve it shall become
due to only excepted and the said Thomas Bradford his heirs executors
and administrators do covenant and agree to and with the said George
Hudsparth his heirs and assigns that he the said Thomas Bradford and his
heirs shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter upon
the request and at the cost and charge of him the said Hudspath his heirs
etc. Do make and execute or cause to be done and executed all such lets
things conveyances whatsoever for the further better and more perfect
conveying and I here making the said lands and premises as shall be
reasonably advised and required by him or them or any of them or any of
their council learned in the law further more the said Thomas Bradford
his heirs executors and administrators do covenant and engage the above
premises with its appurtenances unto him the said George Hudsparth his
heirs and assigns the lawful claim of any person whatsoever forever
hereafter do warrant and defend the same by virtue hereof and that the
said Thomas Bradford or his heirs shall and will acknowledge this his
deed in Granville Court to the said George Hudspath his heirs and
assigns when thereunto required. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written. Thomas
Bradford. Signed sealed and delivered in presents of us George Thompson,
Richard Bradford, Solomon Fuller. Granville County April Court 1768. Then
was this deed duly proved by the oath of Solomon Fuller one of the
subscribing witnesses thereto and on motion ordered to be registered.

1787 May 19 Surry Co. NC Court Minutes - George allowed to keep a ferry
at his own plantation on Yadkin River with rates to be the same as Matthew
Brooks Ferry. A named committee was appointed to view the road from Henry
Speers' bridge on Deep Creek to cross at Hudspeth's Ferry; thence to
Shallowford Road leading toward Salem.

George and Airs HUDSPETH found the conditions of the bond not performed.
Judgment for 150 pounds, to be discharged by the payment of 15 pounds
with interest from the date of said bond until paid; the bond bears date
15 Dec 1791.
Whereas the defendant Airs Hudspeth came into court and gave
Edward Clanton security for the payment of said judgment and Airs Hudspeth,
Jr. entered security also for George Hudspeth for the payment of said
judgment with costs, and the said Joseph Williams agrees to stay execution
12 months
