my contract, and I do indemnify my securities by mortgage of Jesse a fellow about 26

years old and his wife Peggy about 25 years old and her son William about 5 years old,

and his Bet her daughter about one year old, Ben a lad about 14 and his brother Harry

about 10, Dick a boy about 5 years old, Rachael a girl about 13 years of age, Judy a

cow and calf, 2 feather beds, kitchen furniture, 50 acres of land and the grist mills, one

negros, hogs, barrel of flour.... all land belongs to me on lower side of County road on North

side of Bush River and all my moveable estate not otherwise disposed of...to be sold by my Exc.

whom I suthorize to make titles for the land....son Henry Hilburn ..all my land on South side

of Bush River including saw mill adjourning land of Henry O'Neall and Walter Herbert. Contains

24 acres..son Hugh Hilburn ..all my land on North side of Bush River on upper side of Country

road containing gristmill forever except privileges made in the will for my wife and provided

also that Hugh Hilburn pay my grandson Hillery Hilburn and my granddaughter Hannah Hilburn $200

each as they come of age and land hereby bequeathed to be bound for payment of $400 to Hillery

Levi Hilburn died about 1827, in Newberry District. He left widow, Jane, and children Nancy,

Hugh, Richard, Matilda Jay, Malinda Wright, Mahala Haget, Matura Rogers. Gr-ch: Hillery and

Hannah Hilburn. Mrs. Jane Hilburn was daughter of Joseph Thompson. Melinda had married

Wright. Henry married Rachel Duncan, and had children: Thomas T. (he married Nancy Wilson),

Harriet, Rhilly, Reasy, Maddy, Rutha, Conrodia, and Orcathia. Henry died in 1828, and Rachel

Richard was named in Levi's Will dated 1826  son Richard Hilburn .. be paid by my Exc. out

of my estates.. he being fully adranded and "Richard Hilbern, $5; he having been fully

advanced" Richard was named in his mother's will dated 1829.

 

Michael Barr provides this information:
There is a two page document dated June 6, 1853 sworn before the Justice of the Peace at

Greene Co Indiana. This is the result of Israel Hilburn dying without children.
"Know all men by these presents that we Leonard Nicholson and Drusilla Nicholson his wife,

formerly Drusilla Hilburn formerly wife of Richard Hilburn, deceased of Newberry District,

South Carolina, and Levi Hilburn son and only heir at law of the aforesaid Richard Hilburn

and Drusilla Hilburn ; Rebecca Hilburn widow of the later Reason Hilburn deceased formally

of the district of Newberry State of South Carolina; Isaac Skomp and Abigail Skomp daughter

of the aforesaid Reason Hilburn and Rebecca Hilburn, Daniel Chapman and Hannah Chapman

daughter of Reason and Rebecca Hilburn; Ezra D. Hilburn, Madison T. Hilburn, Jabez C.

Hilburn sons of the said Reason and Rebecca Hilburn. All of whom are full age, and Rebecca

Hilburn as mother and guardian for the minor heirs of the aforesaid Reason Hilburn to wit:

constituted and appointed and do by these presents made constitute and appoint, Lambert J.

Jones of Newberry District in the State of SC our sufficient and lawful attorney for our

other persons or persons all such sum or sums of money or any other thing or things which

may be due or in any way coming to us or either of us; as a PART of the heirs at law of
