It appears that sometime before 1855 that John and Mary made the move to Graves Co KY   According to the Graves Co KY Vital Statistics James H Hedge was born April 20 1855. This document is where I found that Mary F’s Maiden name was O’Kelly.

Apparently John and Mary made their way back to Dickson Co TN… Maybe because William Hedge, John's father was dying in 1857? As it shows below John was back in Dickson and died in 1858. By looking at the will it appears that they had set up house keeping… So I don’t know if they were there to stay or not… Anyway Mary did go back to Graves Co Kentucky and can be found there in 1860 near her brother William O’Kelly.

John Hedge lived a short life At the age of 33, John died 12 Aug 1858 Johns will was recorded in Will book B, which reads as follows:

" This 29th June 1858, I John Hedge of the State of TN and county of Dickson, being weak in body, but of sound mind, do call to remembrance that it was appointed unto man once to die. I do acknowledge its full? Stipulations contained in this article to be my last Will and Testament In the of God Amen. I do will and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary F Hedge, all my Household and Kitchen furniture, for the mutual benefit of her and her children; also one mule. I also Will and bequeath to my wife all of the proceeds of my interest in my fathers undivided estate after paying all just debts, And I John A Hedge do? the Sympathy of all my creditors for this benefit of my desolate wife and little babies, I also want A. J. Myatt appointed Executor to this? "

Mary Hedges whole family except for her sister Emeline Myatt left Dickson Co and had moved to KY by or before 1850.
