WILLIAM HARRISON DUNHAM

 

William Harrison Dunham was born April 15th 1815 Warren Co KY. Harrison married Cynthia

Humphries daughter of James and Drucilla Humphries June 23 1839 (Dunham, Harrison married

Humphreys, Synthy on 23 Jun 1839 in Lawrence County, Arkansas stating that Harrison was

24 years and 12 days this day and Synthy said she was 18 years and seven months this day.

Dated the 23 of June 1839.  Vol "A" Pg 2 Arkansas Lawrence County) Harrison died Dec 16

1859 Fulton Co Ark. Harrison Dunham’s Will package is several pages and hard to read and

lasted up until 1881.(Probate Record Vol A page 190) Cynthia Humphries Dunham was born Nov

23 1821 Lawrence Co Ark. Cynthia died aft 1876 Fulton Co Ark. She was named in a Court

Record in regards To Harrison dated Nov 9th 1876. Cynthia was not found on the 1880 Census.

 

The first record Harrison appears in was in 1834, Warren Co KY. " between Zachariah Morris

and Elizabeth, his wife, of the county of Warren and the state of Kentucky of the one part

and Ira Dunham, Polly Wolf, three children of Elizabeth Wolf, formally Elizabeth Dunham,

Jonathan H. Dunham, John S. Dunham, Hulda Dunham, Dorothy Dunham, Agatha Hancock, formally

Agatha Dunham, William H. Dunham, Oliver P. Dunham , Mary Ann Dunham and Strangeman Dunham,

heirs and representative of John Dunham, deceased, of the other part and of the county and

state of afore said. Witnesseth that the party of the first part for and inconsideration of

the sum of eighty dollars to him in hand paid by the John Dunham, deceased, in his lifetime

and receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these

present doth grant bargain sell and convey to the party of the second part a certain tract

of parcel of land containing nine acres lying and being in the county of Warren and state

of Kentucky on the west side of Drakes Creek and being part of two hundred acres of land

granted to the said Zachariah Morris, by patent bearing date of the twenty second day of

January 1814 and bounded as follows. Beginning at a black jack bush 23 poles from the most

north west corner of the original survey running thence south 15 west 9 poles to three post

oaks the beginning corner of the original survey then south 71 east 164 poles to the

1852 Dec 11  Strangeman S. Dunham & Cplff. in equity defts vs. Mary Dunham & C decreed

that the Commissioner Merrit collect the purchase money arising upon the sale of the

land and that he pay out of the same the cost in this case and that he pay to George B.

Adams $10 as an attorneys fee. The Commissioners will then pay the balance as follows,

a third of the residence after paying the cost and attorneys fee, to the widow Mary

Dunham. The remaining two thirds he will pay as follows, one eleventh thereof to each

of the following persons to wit to S.S. Dunham, Huldy Dunham, Mary A. Dunham, Harrison

Dunham, John S. Dunham, Ira Dunham, Jonathan H. Dunham, Darithia (Dorothy Ellison) Allison,

Agness Morgan and John Smith; and one thirty third party of sd. residue to Margarette C.

Wolfe and Adaline R. Wolfe and Mary Wolfe. Severally, he is to pay to the parties residing

in this county and to deposit the shares of the others to their credits respectively in the

1855 July 20 Harrison Dunham 30/20N/7W Harrison paid $21.44 for the 171 acres. This land was

sold to Thomas Cochran for $390 by the executor Lorenzo D Bryant of Harrison’s will. “ Said
